RoPCA Platforms

In a joint effort between medical specialists, software and robotic engineers to create a platform for the automated ultrasound scanning of patients.

The platform will ensure systematic and uniform method to perform ultrasound scans, thereby ensuring physicians the best possible starting point for the determination of treatment. Such systematic scanning is not possible today due to inaccuracy in human performance.

Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a chronic inflammatory disease affecting around 1% of the population. By scanning the metacarpophalangeal and proximal
interphalangeal joints with ultrasound, the synovitis activity can be measured. A frequent scanning of patients can assist doctors to improve the treatment plan as they can view the progression of the patients.  Read more

Deep Vein Thrombosis is blood clots in the deep veins in the legs. We are developing a robot platform for automating Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) diagnosis. Using a robotic platform we hope to achieve a higher scan consistency and increase the hospitals capacity for performing the scans.
